The classes I will be taking next are Accounting
II and Intro to Business for the first session, followed by Business Computer,
and Microeconomics for the second session.
Actually I have an interest in all of the classes but the two that
stands out the most are Intro to Business and Business Computer. These two classes have a great deal to do with
my current learning styles and I feel they both will enhance my learning skills. My
position at my present job is highly related to business and the majority of my
duties involve communicating professionally through computers; office and
computer experience are a must at my current job. For the type of career I plan to pursue, once
I obtain my Bachelor Degree, I feel these two classes will contribute
enormously for the goal I have set in place to become an Administrative
Operation Manager. Based on my research for
the career I have chosen, Intro to Business and Business Computer will
definitely prepare me for the goals I plan to reach.

Week 7
I found it interesting that there are high demands for
Administrative Operation Manager throughout the United States especially in State
Government offices. Some of the
locations included are San Jose, CA, Newark, NJ, Houston, TX, Atlanta, GA,
Hartford, CT, and New York City, NY.
Several years ago I would not have considered relocating, but now, today,
I would consider relocating especially if it is a great opportunity for
me. Also, I feel like changes are a good
experience for life. I would have the
opportunity to experience new venues in life that I probably would not be able
to by residing in one location. I think
it would be a good experience because I would have the opportunity to regroup
and have a fresh start in planning my life.
On the other hand, there are several reasons I would not want to
relocate; family being number one. I
have a large family consisting of five sisters and one brother along with my
father and daughter who all have lived in the same state our entire life. We are a very close family who take annual
vacations together and have several family get-togethers regularly. I’m the youngest of my siblings, and at time
they tend to forget that I am an adult.
Informing them that I was relocating would be very hard news to
deliver. But overall, I would consider
relocating and my family would eventually accept it, support my decision, and
be happy for me.

Week 6 Assignment
Once
I complete my degree, the career I plan to choose is in Management. One of the positions I am interested in is
Administrative
Operations Manager. For this type of
career, the requirements are to have a Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business
Administration, Management, or other related field; three years of
administrative experience, one of which must have been at the supervisory
level. I will be well qualified for this
type of career once I obtain my degree because I have several years of
administrative and supervisory experience.
The annual salary range for this career, depending on the employer,
varies from $47,300 to $129,800; the average salary is $64,000.00. Several businesses, especially state
government, have a strong demand for administrative operation managers because
of their involvements of daily planning, coordinating, and supervising. Because of these types of requests, I think
it will always be a big demand for someone with this type of experience and
degree.

Week 5 Assignment
Some of the techniques I have found to be successful
for studying is not to wait until the last minute to study. I disconnect from
the television and telephone so I can concentrate on my assignment. Reading in chunks, taking notes, and creating
my own questions have become some of my favorite techniques for studying.
I build my confidence
by preparing, relating, and understanding what I am doing. As long as I know the material and feel knowledgeable
about what I am doing, my confidence is built, because I have a sense of
security about trusting my actions and decisions.

Week 4 Assignment
My
“game plan” for managing my time is to make sure I have a well-planned game
that I know is actually going to work for me.
Making
a to-do list and trying to stick to it works tremendously for me. In preparing my list, I prioritize my tasks
in the order of what cannot be compromise and ensure they are done accordingly
as planned. When I see an opportunity to
get something extra done, I take advantage of it and in term this will allow me
to have some additional “me” time.
Managing
work, family, school, and my social life can become very challenging at time. Work
is probably the most easiest to manage because it is a must, and my schedule is
automatically set in place for it.
Spending time with my family and friends is very important to me. So one of the best ways I manage it, while I
am continuing my education, is creating a calendar and highlighting the days
and time I use for studying/homework. As
long I continue to stick to it, I still have plenty of time for my family and
friends.
One
main thing I have to continue to practice is to procrastinate as little as
possible.

Week 3: Career and Educational Goals
My career goal is to get to a point in my life when my job is not
just work that I am assigned to do because it has to be done, but a task that I
enjoy doing. I actually enjoy my job
with the company I am currently employed at, but I would like to be able to
contribute more and get to a point when my job is also considered as a hobby
for me. I choose to say hobby, because I
want to be in a position when I look forward to going to work and getting
excited about what I am going to get accomplish. At
this current moment, what I know I am capable of doing and also what I can contribute
to enhance the company is limited due to the title I now hold. Once I reach my educational goal, which is to
obtain my Bachelor, and then work on my Master degree, I will have the
opportunity to move forward with my plans to be in a higher position at work
and utilize my skills professionally, so I can make authoritative decisions
along with innovational changes. At this
moment, I am actually excited just thinking about it; because I know it is
going to happen…soon.
